IBS

“Take back control and regain Confidence and Freedom!”

Irritable Bowel Syndrome affects 1 in 5 people in the UK. It is difficult to diagnose and sufferers experience a wide range of symptoms which can range from mild to debilitating. This in turn can lead to stress, anxiety and even depression. The causes of IBS are unknown but stress and anxiety can make it worst leaving the sufferer in a perpetual cycle and feeling very isolated.

Sufferers are given dietary advice and sometime medication is prescribed to help with reducing  the symptoms but  now thanks to the work of Peter Whorwell  (Professor of Medicine and Gastronenterology at University of Manchester) hypnotherapy has been recognised by the medical profession as an evidenced based therapy that can help with the symptoms of IBS. Hypnotherapy techniques such as positive suggestions (while in hypnosis) can help alleviate anxiety and stress resulting in an overall feeling of wellbeing which is believed to reduce sensitivity in the gut.

Visualisation techniques and self hypnosis are taught so that you are in more control of your condition helping to create a better quality of life!
